About us

BUILDING ON 140 YEAR OLD FOUNDATIONS
The single-phase transformer – the 1885 patent of Miksa Déry, Ottó Bláthy and Károly Zipernowsky – conquered the world in a short time.
ABOUT OUR COMPANY
Ganz Transformers and Electric Rotating machines Ltd. builds on the foundations that which the three inventors (Ottó Bláthy, Károly Zipernowsky, Miksa Déri) laid over 140 years ago: the plant carries on the legacy of the group of companies founded by Ábrahám Ganz in 1844, which later became known as Ganz Villamossági Művek.
Thanks to our advanced engineering team, we manufacture unique high-voltage electrical equipment – transformers, motors, and generators – as well as providing related services.
Our company is 100% domestically owned since 2020. Ganz is one of the greatest names in T&D business worldwide and we build on nearly 200 years of history, while using today’s modern design and technology to create unique products.
We are proud of our predecessors and of the fact that thanks to our pioneering engineering team, our high-quality equipment – transformers and related steel structures; motors and generators – manufactured in our plant can be found in almost every country of the world. Relying on our nearly 200-year history, we produce our unique products with today’s modern design and technological solutions.
At Ganz, we are committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions that are at the root of climate change. Our aim is to manufacture our products with the lowest possible carbon footprint, in line with the net-zero greenhouse gas emissions targets set by the European Union.
In 2022 we launched our Intelligent Solutions brand, an intelligent technological development that monitors the condition of transformers and electrical rotating machines to strengthen reliability and to prevent critical system failures.
Ganz has a dedicated Service department which provides all kind of service to our clients such as delivery of spare parts, installation and commissioning, and refurbishment of existing equipment (incl. other OEM’s equipment).
Customer focus and flexibility towards our customers during the execution of the projects is how we differentiate ourselves compared to other manufacturers. “Tradition for innovation” is our company motto and Ganz is ready to support our clients with the nowadays challenges.

Rotating Machines Division
Rotating Machines

Introduction
The production of three-phase, alternating current induction motors began in the factory in 1894. From that time, it would be difficult to find in the areas of industry and electric traction where the increasingly state of the art series engines or unique mainframes of the Ganz Transformers and Electric Rotating machines Ltd. are not used.
Through the 90’s we have developed more advanced motors with decreased total weight, increased efficiency and low noise levels in order to satisfy the actual needs of the market and all conditions of the industrial application and to conform to IEC, NEMA, ATEX and EAC standards.
- Our main products are slip ring and cage induction motors (from 450 mm up to 1400 mm frame size) but generators with similar frame limits are also within our production scope. In addition, we are able to manufacture rotating machines that are above the mentioned frame size.
- Besides supplying the motor itself, we provide our machines in package with starter equipment of internationally claimed manufacturers (rotor resistance starter, soft starter).
- We provide our cage motors for being suitable for variable frequency drive duty.
- One of our traditionally proved strengths is the ability to design and manufacture motors that are totally interchangeable with other motor manufacturer’s products.
- Through long-term framework contracts, we are a permanent supplier of OEM companies (GE, Bentec).
- We look back on decades of manufacturing history with reputable manufacturers such as Bombardier, Andritz, Nidec, or Leroy-Sommer.
- One of our recent development is a brand new designed, two-pole compact motor series offered for starting of gas turbines and pump drives.
- We have a long history of experience in manufacturing high voltage motors for 3rd and 4th safety class earthquake-proof nuclear power plants within Hungary and worldwide as well.
